Jeffrey Smulyan born 6 April 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana is the founder and CEO of Emmis Communications.
==Biography==
Born to a Jewish family,〔(Seattle Times: "Family Source Tells All On Mariners' Jeff Smulyan" By Emmett Watson )] March 17, 1991〕 Smulyan earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Southern California. In the early 1990s, Smulyan was an owner of the Seattle Mariners. In 2005, Smulyan was in the running to purchase the Washington Nationals baseball team. The bid was unsuccessful.
